= History =

Be it due to geological happenstance or due to their unique intelligence, Dolphins were the first species on [[Planet Weissblatt]] to discover the potential of crystal magic, culminating in the creation of the [[Enlightenment Crystal]], a gigantic lotus-shaped crystal that could concentrate unprecedented amounts of magic into a single unified current expressing it's own consciousness.

This magical consciousness - named ''the Enlightenment'' - required personal lifestyle commitments of it's followers but imbued them with a higher consciousness and spiritual powers in return.

Once dolphin society became sufficiently crystal-centric, the Enlightenment expressed a need to advance the planet beyond it's current ongoing conflicts. The solution was ''Delfid'' - a city built around the Enlightenment Crystal and placed in the planet's orbit, away from all surface conflicts and destined to serve as a positive example for other societies to follow.

Due to it's omnipresence, neutrality and focus on openness, pacifism and education, Delfid became a central cultural touchstone for the entire planet throughout the following centuries.

== The Asura Incident ==

In 1999 [[Planet Weissblatt#Weissblatt Calendar|WBC]], both Delfid and the Enlightenment Crystal got destroyed by [[Fishbart Toyfeller|Dr. Roy Asura]] after defeating [[Alex Felitas]]. Ever since, only a loose belt of crystalline rubble and the seven [[Enlightenment Crystal#Chakra Shards|Chakra Shards]] remain.
