''Dua'' is a phoenix-kitsune hybrid from the [[Yuko Wars]] era.

= History =
Due to a strong cultural backlash against phoenixes among the [[Marble Empire]] following the [[Siege on Cleron]], Dua grew up impoverished and fugitive during the reign of [[Shogun Yuko]]. After her home town [[Firehawk Valley]] got pillaged by an official of the [[Marble Empire]] under command of Yuko, she set out to find the seven [[Scrolls of Neumos]] with the ambition of establishing a state of equality without discrimination.

Following the overthrow of Shogun Yuko, Dua was able to establish a sovereign settling to fulfill her ideals which soon grew into the nation of [[Byodo]].

= Legacy =
Posthumously, Dua's character and her ideals of equality have been heavily mythologized, especially among Byodo's official institutions. This has caused corruption to seep into it's governing bodies which slowly transformed the Byodan republic into an authoritarian surveillance state.

After her death, [[Shtayn]] rediscovered Dua's soul among [[The Underworld]] and merged with it to become KOTU.
