The Wheel of Civilization is a philosophical concept originating from the Marble Empire. It describes how social forces, particularly those of decadence, tyranny and chaos can cause political unrest and perpetuate an eternal cycle of social change.

Theory[edit | edit source]

According to the theory, the progression of civilization is spun in a metaphocal wheel, moved across phases by the forces of decadence, tyranny and chaos influencing one another.

  1. Decadence is exploitative, inciting unrest from the underclass.
  2. Tyranny is oppressive and controlled, leading into chaos
  3. Chaos is uncontrolled and messy.

According to the theory, this cycle can potentially be stopped or broken. Whether stopping the wheel of civilization is aspirational or devastating to society however is unknown.
