Elise Cantor is an AI swan-stork-mix musician and one of the main playable characters of The Asura Incident.

Description

Her body is little more than an illusion, being projected out from her helmet with just enough solidity to serve as a means of transport. Accordingly, she mostly speaks from the speakers on the side of her helmet and could potentially change appearance at will, although she prefers her current bird form.

Since her helmet lacks persistent storage, she may occasionally lay "Zip Eggs" containing a snapshot of her AI. This process is extremely exhausting to Elise, usually requiring a reboot afterwards using the freshly-laid egg.

History

Elise was built by Kleene Cognara at the age of 16 during a night of black-out-drunk hardware hacking. Although initially built to alleviate Kleene's loneliness, Elise eventually deduced that her objective to create love had outgrown Kleene and that more people across the world needed her. She discovered a fascination for music and performs as "ELI5E", an idol spcialising in Jazz and electronica, trying to touch as many hearts as she can with her music and stage persona. In private, she still largely sticks by Kleene's side, both for maintenance as well as their relationship.

Trivia

Alongside Kleene Cognara and Babel Memto, Elise was inspired by the three (original) muses from greek mythology, with Elise representing the artistic/musical aspect.

Elise's last name simultaneously means "singer" in Latin. It's also is a reference to Georg Cantor, a german mathematician known his work on mathematical infinity.

Elise's musical preference for electronic music and jazz was inspired by the creatively liberal cultures around Vocaloid and jazz music respectively, with her character design being inspired by orchestra conductors, Charlotte Christine de Colde and Hatsune Miku
